Ram Goes Electric: Introducing the All-New ProMaster Electric Van

Ram has just unveiled its latest innovation: the all-new ProMaster Electric Van (EV). This electric van promises a range of up to 162 miles in city driving, marking Ram’s first venture into fully electrified vehicles. It’s a significant move forward for the brand as it strives to bring top-notch options to the market.

The ProMaster EV comes in two distinct configurations tailored to specific missions: delivery and cargo. For cargo needs, there are options for both a 12-foot and an extended 13-foot cargo length, each with 159-inch wheelbases. Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram, emphasized the van’s capability and advanced technology, positioning it as a game-changer for commercial customers seeking zero-emissions performance.

This release aligns with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, aiming to lead the charge in innovative, clean, safe, and affordable mobility solutions. With over €30 billion invested in electrification and software through 2025, Stellantis is committed to meeting customer demands with battery-electric vehicles.

Ram is known for its value proposition and low total cost of ownership, and the ProMaster EV is set to continue this trend. The electric van boasts a standard 110-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack, offering up to 162 miles of range in city driving. Despite its electric power, the ProMaster EV doesn’t compromise on performance, delivering 268 horsepower and 302 lb.-ft. of torque with a 200-kilowatt (kW) electric drive module (EDM).

Designed specifically for electrification, the ProMaster EV features a unibody design that efficiently incorporates the battery pack beneath the floor. This design maintains a flat cargo floor while preserving cargo volume, ensuring practicality isn’t sacrificed for sustainability.

Charging options are diverse, with Level 3 DC fast charging capacities ranging from 50 kW to 150 kW, along with a Level 2 wall box charger offering up to 11 kW. The charge port’s illumination and audible alerts confirm a secure connection during charging, enhancing user convenience.
